Optimization of crystal violet adsorption on common lilac tree leaf powder as natural adsorbent material

چکیده

In this study the efficiency of crystal violet dye removal from aqueous solutions using lilac tree leaf powder as adsorbent material was tested. After surface analysis by SEM and FTIR technics, influence six controllable factor on adsorption process assesses a L27 Taguchi experimental design. The optimum conditions factors significance were established evaluation signal-to-noise ratio (S/N). ANOVA revealed percentage contribution each in removal. Langmuir isotherm pseudo-second order kinetic model characterized maximum capacity higher than other similar adsorbents previously used literature. thermodynamic parameters reveal favorable, spontaneous endothermic based physisorption mechanism.

Quantitative adsorption of crystal violet.

The formula for crystal violet given in Conn's book (1940) implies that quantitative measurement of the dye adsorbed by bacterial cells should be possible by a suitable micro-Kjeldahl procedure. At the present time there is no satisfactory method for estimating the degree of gram positivity although the need for such a procedure is recognized and is discussed by Bartholomew and Mittwer (1952). ...

Optimization of Crystal Violet Adsorption by Chemically Modified Potato Starch Using Response Surface Methodology

In this research, a response surface methodology (RSM) was used to investigate the effects of independent parameters (pH, contact time, temperature, adsorbent dosage, and initial concentration of pollutant), their simultaneous interactions, and quadratic effects on crystal violet adsorption onto two starch based materials in the form of batch experiments. The characterizing results indicated th...

Equilibrium and Kinetic Study of Adsorption of Nickel from Aqueous Solution onto Bael Tree Leaf Powder

The ability of bael tree (BT) leaf powder to adsorb nickel, Ni, from aqueous solutions has been investigated through batch experiments. The Ni adsorption was found to be dependent on adsorbent dosage, initial concentration and contact time. All batch experiments were carried out at natural solution pH and at a constant temperature of 30°C using wrist-action shaker that operated at 120 rpm. The ...
